Porridge Radio has released another single for Sub Pop’s subscription Singles Club series, “You Are A Runner And I Am My Father’s Son” by Wolf Parade. A few weeks ago, the band covered The Shins’ “New Slang.’ Other songs recently included in this series include “Sidney’s Lullaby” and “Miles Lullaby,” by Washed Out, named after band leader Ernest Greene’s sons. You can listen to Porridge Radio’s new song below.

“Sub Pop are a label I’ve loved for a long time, and when they asked if we wanted to release some songs with them this summer, I looked through their back catalog and chose 2 songs to cover that had a big impact on me as a teenager,” said Porridge Radio’s Dana Margolin in a statement. “Much like every other musician who was forced to stop touring because of the Covid-19 pandemic, I spent a lot of time at home and because of quarantine measures spent more time with my two young children than I ever have before. As any parent can tell you, it is an amazing experience seeing them discover the world around them and their minds are so pure, honest, and open. I thought these two instrumental sketches had a sweetness and playfulness about them that characterized certain aspects of their development during this time. I tried to capture both of their unique spirits but also the tenderness I feel for them as their father.”
