Jack White has come to the rescue of a Busker in Edinburgh, Matt Grant, after he had his guitar smashed by a passerby. According to Grant, while he was performing, an angry woman grabbed his guitar and smashed it. You can watch the video Grant posted of the incident below.

Without the funds to buy a new guitar himself, Grant set up a crowdfunding page. Luckily for him, former White Stripes star Jack White stumbled across the page and felt bad for what had happened to Grant. While at a music shop, Matt would receive a phone call from a “third party” which turned out to be White’s manager. When White heard about the news he asked his manager to get in touch with Matt by ringing every guitar shop in the city. Jack White would offer to personally buy Matt a new guitar and after browsing around, Matt settled on custom Fender Stratocaster (pictured below). In a later social media post Grant wrote “Absolute once in a million lifetimes thing happened today and I cannot thank Jack enough for his absolute generosity. Thanks Jack. I’d love to thank you personally one day, you’re a legend”
